Co-founders Adam Sachs and Sammy Khalifa met at MIT as undergrads and began developing and refining the company’s technology. They launched the company in 2014, along with co-founder Dr. Barry Greene, a board certified Bariatric and General Surgeon, who provided insight and ideas into the development of the robot based on his 25 years experience performing advanced laparoscopic surgical procedures.
Their mission today is to transport surgeons inside the patient to perform minimally invasive surgery using their proprietary human-like surgical robots and virtual reality. The approach is designed to improve patient outcomes.
The company holds a patent for its virtual reality surgical system and has been featured or mentioned in several publications, including RoboHub, The New Yorker, and TechCrunch.
